LiveForm #1

Six seat dining table in Ailanthus and Ash with steel base. 30”High X 38”Wide X 84”Long.

This piece started when an Ailanthus (Tree of Heaven) was harvested from the Client’s backyard and milled into lumber under LiveForm’s direction. The consecutive slabs, when laid out, told a story of the tree growing, loosing, and healing over a limb. That narrative would have been lost in traditional woodworking because of the irregular shape of the boards. The technology and collaborators available to LiveForm allowed for another solution, and the curves of the limb were preserved and highlighted without compromising the utility of the object.
